It's stated very clearly in the series that each Logia has a certain element that they are weak against (Crocodile is weak against water or any sort of liquid and Enel is weak against rubber). So to the anon above me, the fact that Ace is weak against Lava would make some sense.

PS- You seem to also be forgetting that Admirals also have Haki? Just throwing that one out there.
