@ Anon 2. It's from the director of Digimon: Our War Game. He had written a short script before Our War Game that inspired the plot of that film. He expanded his original script into Summer Wars, using his own characters and expanding on the premise considerably. They are very similar plot-wise, but still excellent movies regardless.

I'm thinking what he's holding is the time machine from The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, which is by the same director, so shouldn't this warrant a tag for such?
