Me personally, I think it would had been better if they would had shown her scar side in this scene, ya know to show that she overcame her fear.

I believe it does show that as the people in the background can clearly see her scarred side plain as day.

Rather than Hanako try hiding behind Hisao she's expressing her love to him without even covering her burnt flesh as she kisses him.
