It represents your aim when you choose to FIGHT.

I believe this to represent the genocide path, with Frisk, your pacifist character, being reluctant to FIGHT but being controlled by Chara's spirit to murder everyone on their way.

I think this is the neutral ending, the part when Frisk has to for the first time actually fight to proceed. Frisk cant do it, but Chara- confused and secretly touched by Frisk's kindness towards everything- decides to help Frisk fight by guiding their hand in the fight.

Very touching, imo.

Anon3:
Based on Chara's facial expression, your hypothesis is the most likely. Since this is probably the fight against Asgore (judging by the purple ambience underneath them), I think neither Frisk nor Chara want to fight and hurt him; Frisk, because of their gentle nature, and Chara, because Asgore was Chara's adopted father (and I think Chara genuinely loved their adopted family); but Chara knows there's no other way this time.

I always found the theory that Chara is the narrator interesting to think about. S/he does blatantly hijack the narration every once in a while during the Genocide Run and a lot of the things the monster checks and narrations say actually only makes sense if the narrator is interpreted to be a character separate from Frisk... (For example since they always refer to Frisk as "you"...) With the possibility in mind that Chara is as much the narrator as they are a representation of us, it's possible that the personality they assume is reflective of the narrative you give the story. And, if that is so, consider the following:
"Seems SAVING the game really is impossible... But... Maybe, with what little power you have... You can SAVE something else."
...if Chara really IS the narrator, then that indicates that, by the end of the Pacifist Run, s/he is wholeheartedly supporting and encouraging Frisk (and you, too) to get a better ending... In a way, doesn't that mean the Pacifist Run allows us to SAVE Chara's SOUL, too?
