I also got a female Popplio for my second and current playthrough. She's the best member of the team with her quiet STAB moonblast. POPPLIO BEST STARTER.

Sort of. There are female Machop/Machoke/Machamp, female Kadabra/Alakazam still have mustaches (albeit shorter ones), and a female Mr. Mime, while possible, is a bit of an oxymoron.

Gen I has the most discrepancies because it was before the gender system was introduced.
