so... they chopped up a half dozen mecha designs and pasted them onto a musume body. is this an homage, or just laziness? given that its Studio Trigger, I will hope its an homage... but its so obviously the mecha version of Moe. I almost don't like it because I am supposed to like it

Actually, it's more like Magical Girl x Star Driver's Tauburn.

Compared to Captain Earth being Tauburn x Super Robot.

And, of course, Tauburn was throwing references left and right, but it also did them in an interesting way.
