Wow this forum is still way active lol, to be truthful I still find that rule to be crazy and retarded mainly because there are a million shitty Japanese artists out there. So it's safe to assume that if they're Japanese but their art is shitty we'll keep it on this site because they're Japanese. To have race become a bigger deal than quality is just sad, I've seen images here that are crap, and that hold no comedic value whatsoever and they are ones I recognize from Pixiv.
People shouldn't put so much emphasis on race, quality in images is something we should be looking for, and that stood with the artists that really deserved it, but even now MN Xenx (A wonderful furry artist) had all of his work wiped out from here, and only because he wasn't Japanese. It is silly to erase an artist from a site because of race, he is well received as a quality artist so there was no point in getting rid of his work, especially when there was so much of it.
I love ranting about the stupidity of this rule but at the same time it will take a lot more than just a few people telling the people that run Gelbooru that it's a stupid rule, and one that obviously eats up their time a lot more than it should. If you ask me a rule should be held for the quality of an art piece as opposed to looking up the artist of the drawing and finding out if they're Japanese or not, it saves them a lot more time, and it lets us keep all the art that we like on this site. There were a few non-Japanese artists I liked here but so far each of them has been erased. They were quality artists that tons of people loved, but their work was erased because of their race, that's really stupid in my eyes. If you guys have a life then why spend so much of it finding non-Japanese artists to erase?

Stop being so butthurt Tsuubasa. If you want to upload anything, within limits of course, go to Xbooru. There is no quality control process or racial discrimination, as you put it, on that site. Clearly you do not understand the purpose of this site, and should be directed to a site with no purpose other than allowing anything you want to upload.

I was butthurt that my work got removed, trust me, but at this point I don't care anymore because my work was put on safebooru lol. I don't even care if it's removed from there anymore. I'm not a Japanese artist at all so my work doesn't "belong" on this site.
However me being butthurt doesn't change the fact that it's a stupid rule, why give props to all Japanese artists even the ones who suck, and delete all the western artists who style their art after Manga/Anime and obviously have a Japanese themed art style?
It seems pointless and stupid to me to get rid of quality art if it's not done by a Japanese artist, and keep shitty art that's done by Japanese artists.

How does this apply when the artist is not known?

I've uploaded 2 things that the artist is not known for, yet have been removed do too "not bieng by a japanese artist".

That can't be said with certanty, it could be by somone who is japanese, lives in japan, but we wouldn't know.



Back to the whole point of the rule, it's annoying to see some good work by western artists that would go to a tag that have very few images for get banned, yet a crappy work for a tag that has tens of thousands of images get's away fine.

I guess you just have to appeal the restoration of those images in the other sticky, since the scum and grouts aren't going to know if they are deleting the wrong artists until they've already done it.

Artists sometimes sign their work, so we might have used to singature/watermark to find the artist's information... Then again, I'm not sure about yours, because I (probably) was not the one who deleted them.
