If "Gelbooru is a Japanese-themed site", then I fail to see how this gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=2659566 is Japanese-themed.

Fine. By "lowering quality" I mostly meant permitting images looking less and less anime-ish. I wasn't talking about if the cats are using tablets or paper.

Maybe this could be stupid questions, but what happens if:
- The Japanese-artist has western style
- Or the Western-artist is recently nationalized as Japanese

?

A Japanese artist's works are allowed regardless of what the style or subject matter is.

?

It's less about nationality or race and more about where someone has grown up and spent a large chunk of their life. In this sense, being recently nationalized as Japanese doesn't make them any more Japanese for Gelbooru's purposes. On the other hand, if they've spent 10+ years living in Japan, they wouldn't need to be nationalized.

Imagine you're a racist, *ghem* so a pretty normal Japanese *ghem*. If you like someone, his/her works are allowed. That's basically the gist of it.

Western art is better than Japanese art.

It isn't about what's better, though - this is a Japanese-themed site, so everything uploaded must be Japan-related in some way. If a Western artist draws characters from a Japanese copyright in a way without an excessive amount of Western style influence, it'll be allowed unless it's drawn poorly enough that we'd delete it even if it were by a Japanese artist.

I really like this interpretation way more than the old "delete everything by western artists".
Tons of really good art got lost that way.
Sure, I also remember the time when most western art was crap and the few good where drawing excusively weird fetish stuff (well, at least it felt that way), but now we have so many great western art about animu and mango, it would be a shame to not allow it.
