Adding tags to the search with the "+" link is one of the best things about this site imo. I think it could be even better if:

- the tags in your current search showed up first in the list
- for these tags, instead of "+ -" to add or filter tag from search, maybe just a "-" to remove the tag from search (not filter it), or something like "~ -" (or some other symbol) where the ~ would remove it from the search, and the - would replace it with the negative version.

Just to clarify, I'm talking about the '+' and '-' links beside tags on left when browsing... the search box syntax would be the same.

My idea is mainly of having a way of removing any one tag from the search with one click. Instead of clicking in the search box and editing out by hand. Kind of like how the '+' link adds a tag to the search, but backwards.

Maybe you know what I meant though and I'm just not making the connection. :)

Ah, '~' was a bad choice, above. I didn't realize it was already an operator. I really just meant a link that would repeat the search but with that tag removed from the search (not negated, just removed).

If you search for "loli -loli" it will return no results. I'm not quite understanding what you are wanting...

If I understand what he means, it goes a little like this.

Meet Bob. Bob's last name is Brasky. This is not relevant, but character development is fairly important.

Bob, y'see, has a thing for breasts. Breasts and, somewhat paradoxically, loli. He searches, and realises he'd love to see a gangbang too, I guess (Bob's crazy, man!). So Bob has decided, he will search for

loli breasts gangbang

Now this search returned a few images, but he decides that actually he'd rather just see all images with loli and breasts as well as the occasional gangbang image, so he moves his mouse over to the search box, clicks and removes the gangbang tag and presses enter.

How many oranges does Jim have now?

Now okokno is saying "Yo, homeslice, I think we should have an option to widen our search by simply clicking a button to remove a tag we had previously searched for okay OKAY!"

Before: loli breasts gangbang
Action: Press modifier button of gangbang (~ was suggested)
After: loli breasts

If that's what he was asking for, it's a bit of a redundant thing to add. The back button on the browser would be just as useful.
