"flat_chest" IS part of the breast size ladder, so in order for it to apply on an image, there must be breasts there, even if they do not protrude at all.

I suddenly realized that it might be a good idea to go through and make sure all the rungs are properly implicated. I don't know how long it's been, so there might be a few posts that ended up with large_breasts but no breasts for example.

Actually... almost every single image I've seen that used a size_breasts tag... never actually had breasts tag. I've had to add it about 90% of the time.

I think that in general flat_chest is overtagged, and most things tagged flat_chest+breasts should be tagged small_breasts.

Don't forget that it would only apply to solo and 1girl. If there are 2+girls in the post then you can have both the flat_chest and breasts tags together.

This is because Danbooru doesn't have a small_breasts tag, and lumps that in with flat_chest. We in turn get all of the images that come in from Danbooru which would be tagged small_breasts here, but which aren't because of their tagging policy.

In any case, I do see your point. I do feel that, due to Danbooru's size ladder being vastly larger than ours, we should probably reform these tags at some point in the future. The small_breasts tag returns about 5,100 posts in the API, which is only slightly more than the results I was getting for huge_breasts -breasts when I threw that into the mass tagger to fix it. Obviously small_breasts aren't an uncommon thing, so that means that a substantial number of posts aren't properly tagged with it. At this point, it seems to me at least that it would be easier just to change our size ladder over to match Danbooru's.

The Danbooru ladder, for comparison:

flat_chest - up to 1/3 heads in size
breasts - 1/3 to 1 head in size
breasts+large_breasts - ~1 head in size
breasts+huge_breasts - between 1 and 2 heads in size
breasts+gigantic_breasts - 2+ heads in size

In Gelbooru I think flat chest literally means pancake flat. As 0.

I think I'm going to tag them with breast anyway... unless enough of you say I shouldn't. Because it isn't like gelbooru will fall apart if I do.

Even all these images coming Danbooru are not rated properly.
