You can if you want, but it might not be very likely to work. This bothers me a bit as well.
I will suggest you try using saucenao.com/ for those images.

In general I'm doing it so I can keep a tab on the ones that I can't find a point of origin for using saucenao and google.
Maybe adding a comment saying you added source_request to try to get the image source and not the copyright?
If the images you're trying to source also exist on Danbooru, I recommend you look and ask for it there as well. You'll have a higher shot of success there rather than here.

That's going to be quite a few comments, many on images that have scores of useless comments (usually naruto).
Ah, I suppose I'll just bookmark them and refrain from using the source_request tag.
I wouldn't refrain from it if I were you, but don't expect much payoff out of it.
Creating a genuine copyright_request tag would be a pretty sizable undertaking, considering how much of source_request would have to be altered. Then we'd have the even more sizable undertaking of banging it into peoples heads to use copyright instead.
