On danbooru you can search for status:deleted to find deleted pics.

is there a way to search for deleted pics on Gel?

You could also try xbooru if you want to search through a bunch of stuff that (would have) got deleted from The G.

But they aren't actually deleted, they are just sort of shunned.

I mean, maybe if mister admin would let people actually /delete/ images, then maybe there would be a point.

Deleting images completely removes them from being findable anywhere but the main post listing, favorites listings, and tag history entries. Our "deleting" effectively makes them unviewable. That is the point of it: to make the images unable to be seen until an admin reviews them.

In practice, we have so many images deleted like this that it would be difficult for admins to review all of them. So, full purging of images is generally only performed when they violate a very major rule.

And when does an admin ever review them? I haven't once heard of him doing that.

I don't see why the moderation staff can't be trusted enough to do that.
