I will try again tomorrow though I just checked and I get an error 403. I have "gelbooru.com" as a referer (previews download fine), and a custom User-Agent. Unless Gelbooru blocks custom user agents, this is really weird.

Yeah would it be possible to check with him directly if there's anything blocking my requests at all? It only happens when trying to download full images, and I have exhausted all my options. I even tried with other iOS Booru apps and they are working fine whereas mine randomly started to fail in that area.
EDIT: Accidentally posted with the account I used to test if I was banned, haha. This is Friederich.
EDIT 2: I FINALLY got it to work again.
To anyone who has this problem, you have to set the referer to "gelbooru.com" (note the http:// part - you may need to quote this message to see it properly). I was only setting it to "gelbooru.com" and that was causing my original image downloads to get 403'd.
