Alternative_Color and "Poor Photoshop"

I would appreciate if somebody explained to me the difference between Alternative_Color Tag and Recoloring something with a computer program. I was under the impression that they were one and the same, but it's possible I was mistaken.

Poor_photoshop (in the context of colors) takes an existing image and uses a color slider or, even worse, a paint bucket tool to change the color. No effort was put into the image. Also, not a real tag.

Alternate_color is when the image was created with that color scheme, and it is different from the character's default colors. This can be because it is a Player 2 color scheme for a character, a shiny Pokémon, or if the character was corrupted, as a few examples.

Recoloring something with a computer program would be tagged edit, photoshop or revision.

If someone drew an image of Reimu Hakurei with a blue outfit from the start instead of the red she usually wears then alternate_color would apply. Same with shiny pokemon.

I greatly appreciate that explanation. Am I to understand that it would be acceptable to post an edit if I place the Tag: Edit on it?

It is generally frowned upon. If it is of good enough quality, it might stay, but if it looks low quality, expect it to be deleted.

I have no further questions. Thank you for the information.

If you upload an example to Tinypic (or a similar image hosting site) and post a link, we can take a look and see if it is good.
