Some mobile browsers don't support WebM playback. If you're using a mobile device, this might explain why.
Some browsers fail to properly play the first few seconds of WebMs. I'm honestly not sure why, but they'll play properly if you download them and watch them in a media player of some sort. I've seen really short WebM's (usually <30 seconds) where this affected the whole video.

What browser and hardware (pc/tablet/phone model) do you use? If PC, maybe it's a problem with codecs. Recently I've almost killed my tablet with a defective micro SD card (tiny crack). The card got insanely hot within a second and I saw smoke. Naturally I immediately attempted to remove the SD card, burning my finger in the process. The tablet still works, but it's got a few issues now. Among which is the inability to play webms (it just freezes). This wasn't an issue before...
