normal comment not visible
Posted on: 09/26/16 11:52AM

On most image pages, I cannot see any comments. Like this one: gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=1780960

I see the "2 comments (1 hidden)" but no comment visible. If I click the "(1 hidden)", I can see the hidden comment, but not the non-hidden one(s). Could it be that my uBlock messes that up? Or any other setup reason? Months ago this issue was not the case, though. (I also used uBlock back then)

On other pages I can see *some* comments, like on this: gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=877099
I can see comment #398449 and comment #426485, but 8 minus the hidden 3 should make 5 visible, not just 2... Weird.

I wasn't able to reproduce the issue with Adblock Plus. Someone else on the mod team might be able to try with uBlock, but since Adblock Plus and uBlock use the same filter list by default, it could be a bug in uBlock.

Try updating your uBlock's easylist filter. A couple days ago people had issues with one of their filters, but from what I remember it got fixed.

For what it's worth, easylist currently seems to be filtering all of Gelbooru's JavaScript, which should prevent any comments from being filtered.

It just updated a short while ago (I know cause then my browser asks me if easylist can set a cookie)

Also, I use Palemoon, not Firefox. But I have used that for years...

I just had another even more annoying issue, my blacklist no longer worked. I logged out and logged in, and the blacklist again works okay, but the above issue with the comments not visible is just the same...

So I checked yet another page gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=2690808 and this time looked into the html code.
I can only see #1736638
But in the source code, all the comments that I cannot see (in this case, even the hidden one not shows when I click the "1 hidden" link have

hidden=""

I also checked gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=1780960

Here it is the same, the one I cannot see also has the hidden="" code, its the one that says "Me like that one very much".

I'm using Pale Moon also. I was able to fix the issues by clearing the browser cache.

Go to the menu. History > Clear Recent history. Make sure that only Cache is checked off and then delete as far back as you have to. See if that works.

I try... so I use:
Time range to clear: everything
[x] Cache

HTH... since I always browse in Private Window mode and in these windows I cannot open Ctrl+Shift+Del (Clear recent history)

//edit
Nope, did not help. Issue is the same. When I restart the browser next time, I again do a Clear recent history -- Time range to clear: everything -- [x] Cache and hope it works then...

So, completely started the browser, and did once more the Clear recent history -- Time range to clear: everything -- [x] Cache
Then opened a new Private Window , logged in here, tried some of the above, and it's still the same.

Could it be some issue with a html tag, probably hidden="" and my ublock origin or probably the blocking list I use?
