Not all Japanese artists have that style though. It's like you've only watched moe anime and decided that's what defines Japanese art.

It's not really subjective in this case if you look at Otto's Pixiv: www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php

He's only uploaded 29 works as oppose to BTD who has over 600 works, yet he's doing better. In fact, Otto's not really popular in the west if you compare how he's received on Pixiv versus western websites. His work is also being followed by artists like Mochi: www.pixiv.net/bookmark.php?type=user&id=37966 and LL: www.pixiv.net/bookmark.php?type=user&id=2001822

No offense to BTD, just think it's weird that Otto's work is acceptable to Japan/popular Japanese artists, but not you guys. Seems like you're giving a pass to BTD because he's affiliated.

Can these be restored? Even though they look western, it's stated on Pixiv that the artist is from Aomori, Japan. And there aren't any other links stating the artist's whereabouts.

Restoration

I would like the following images restored:

gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=3466875
gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=3466879
gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=3466874
gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=3456242
gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=3456241

I feel that these are high quality pieces of art, regardless of their artist's nationality. I also notice that there are many non-Japanese artists in abundance on this site. Sunibee, Zone, Boris, THeBoogie, Slugbox, Noill, Spazkid, Idlecil, Norasuko, BrektBardbot, and Shadman to name a few. The site's tolerance for non-Japanese artists, should be much higher

Right the thing is Gelbooru was originally created for japanese images mainly from Pixiv but also from other japanese sites, now your right there are plenty of great artists out there but you know their pretty easy to find while japanese artists are not, most of the time there's a massive language barrier between us and them and that's where Gelbooru comes in, we're not being elitist or weaboos or anything like that we're just trying to showcase art from sites that are pretty inaccessible to most people. Do you understand now?

Why are previously allowed images suddenly being removed? Nitrotitan's work was always allowed but is now getting removed for being non-Japanese.

When it comes to Western artists especially, their images get judged on an image-by-image basis. That's why in some cases, you get some of an artists work remaining on Gelbooru after upload but not all. The reasons could be to do with quality, subject matter of the image, or the copyrights that were drawn.

Nitrotitan has had images deleted before. A few of them, I do believe. That said, I restored it and the two images you originally had in your post.

Unanswered for weeks, and about 21 mod responses in this thread after my previous comment.

I'm contagious... nah, this service is just plain ass.

If you're talking about post #3430864, it's not something I would have deleted. Self uploading is not against the rules, it's a Japanese copyright and I think the art quality is plenty good enough. The only reason I'm not restoring it right now is because it was deleted by an admin and I don't know his full reasoning.

Edit: I will grant that the art style is pretty western.

Why was this removed? The reason was: "Don't get your panties in a bunch"

What does that mean?
