So, is Nitrotitan's work not allowed anymore or something? I just got like 9 messages stated that an image I uploaded was deleted, and it was all Nitrotitan. Normally I wouldn't think anything of it, but all the other stuff is up.

It's been restored.

It's not a matter of an artist being allowed or not but whether the image itself is consistent with this site. I found one of his posts flagged for deletion for being off topic and I agreed with this reason. I did some research and found that Nitotitan/Mode7 is from the UK. After that I started looking at his other work to see if more should be removed. The tall noses, broad lips and hips/proportions that no self-respecting Japanese artist would show to the public seen on many of the posts where decidedly western. When I started I didn't know if I'd be removing 1,2, or 200, I just started looking through what was posted. Not all of his work was of a western-only style or off-topic and I left around 5 pages of his work alone. I was pretty much done when another mod asked me to stop because of reasons.

I can think of a few JP artists off the top of my head that draw at least one or two of these things, especially exaggerated proportions.

I don't like taking shit like this out in public, but you don't blow out an artist tag without first informing someone of it. This has been a policy for years. That's the "reasons."

Nitrotitan is a western artist so by definition no, his work was never allowed here. However the "at mod digression" rule allow mods to restore images they deem to be of great quality. So my advice is that you don't upload these images at all since they are actually breaking the rules.

Yes, and they are Japanese. A Japanese drawing in a western style does not make that style Japanese. If a western artist draws in a western style, then the art does not look Japanese.

Hi,I have received a notification that one of my posts ( //gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=1413973 ) was deleted because the artist wasn't Japanese.

It's not true, here is the link to the artist's blog. ftaku.sakura.ne.jp/diary/diary.cgi

Thanks for your attention, and for resolving the issue.

I think it's due to an artist tag conflict. The anma tag is intended for the artist you're referencing but people have started using it for a non-japanese yaoi artist of the same name.

This ones particularly confusing to me, because the art is high quality, the style is Eastern and clearly different from the rest of the tag, and there's Hiragana where the Western artist, from what I can tell, has never used Japanese characters in any of his drawings, yet somehow it still got deleted.

Again, it's been restored.

Invalid Reason: "Compressed dupe"
Posted on: 02/12/17 06:43PM

gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=3414591 was deleted, and is in no way a dupe of gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=3415966

Deleted image is the full artwork, the "dupe" is the 'card' image from the related game.
