Now this is actually very crazy. I don't think we've ever seen a leak on this scale before, but I could be wrong.

Basically, someone on twitter leaked an entire 4th spongebob movie onto twitter. There wasn't even a trailer yet, no teasers, no preview images, nearly everyone didn't even know there WAS a 4th spongebob movie coming. Yet, someone just popped up and leaked the full movie for everyone to see.

Granted, a new spongebob movie wasn't something that was anticipated by people (most people, especially adults, are already completely fatigued by modern spongebob), but could you imagine the chaos if it were a really beloved and popular IP? Like if someone just leaked the entire full game of a new mario, final fantasy, pokemon, etc. game without being announced beforehand?

Crazy.

imagine being impatient so badly, the only way to mitigate it is to push stuff out of the way much earlier..I find it obnoxious..does the leaker have ties with the object? I have a feeling that says no,just some vermin who don't know how copyright works.

leaking stuff has been a thing since forever, usually it came from an insider, but this..again, this one's just some vermin who signed up to a social media site frying the big, whole chicken (feathers and all) on a miniature pan with an even smaller can of heat.

DMCA take-downed by the real copyright holder shortly afterwards, you see, this is why it's a BAD idea to take matters into your own cybernetic hands, let alone claim any kind of affiliation with it.

Maybe that's how they got away with it. Maybe the SpongeBob franchise is on such a complacent level of autopilot that no one was really guarding against it. Nobody cares, SpongeBob will make enough money.
