Ahhh I remember the story for the first one.
Inoue fell down the steps of a shrine and died.
Ichigo showed up to send her to soul society when her dad showed up to take her there... turns out he was a hollow and trying to kill her. So she stabs herself to kill her father (he was holding her from behind) but Rukia saved her. :D
And Rukia is so small because she gave her powers to Ichigo and at the beginning of the comic she was taking a bath in one of his coffee mugs XD

I think they could have doe a lot with the original version. Ichigo looks a lot better in it atleast, he looks like a samurai instead of a buffoon in black pajama's swinging a giant slab of sharpened metal.
