The Uzi's easy to field strip, cheap to produce, comes chambered in 9mm (Making it more useful for taking down unarmoured targets than the P90) and can house a variety magazine sizes, ranging from 10 to 50 rounds.
Hatate looks like she's trying to travel light, so a full size assault rifle makes little sense and the P90's 5.7 round is simply too weak to stop your average attacker.
