Its not going to appear, the ritual is not even half done!
Its called Hitori Kokurenbo (Hide and Seek Alone) in Japanese.
You have to use a huge amount of water (a bathtub), a doll filled with dry rice and some of your nails (hair will work fine) and a red thread to bind it.

And you have to name it, too, as its a common practice in necromancy which gives the spirit/ghost/demon more power.

Once you "found" the doll you have to stab it, cutting the thread and letting the spirit out, and drop it into the water, which serves as a portal/medium of sorts. Now its your turn to hide.

You have to end the ritual properly to get rid of the spirit. For this you need salt water or sake, which you're going to hold in your mouth (it makes you temporarily invisible to the spirit) and pour on the doll (wherever you find it, it may not be in the bathtub). After that you have to burn the doll to crisp.

The ritual basically is a good way to find out how it feels to be a character in Japanese horror movie.
