goku is one of the tallest character in dbz, i think its just where their standing, look at vegeta he looks like he can reach goku's shoulder which he shouldn't. from what i remember in a episode he had to grab goku's shirt and make him bend forward to talk to him face to face.

5'7 157Lbs my ass, theres NO way somebody with a body like that is that light, ATLEAST 260lbs, and over 6'0 tall. the Japanese have an interesting perception of height and weight..

i'm with you on that man, there's no way Goku is that little. He must just have 100 percent muscle or something but that's not really possible

Goku’s height was designed by the perspective of a Japanese man in Japan. Bare in mind the average (not stereotyping, just statistically) Japanese person is shorter than the average European or North American. It’s also why most of the characters have black hair and dark eyes, because it’s from the perspective of a Japanese environment. Also it’s true, the taller characters here are supposed to be freakishly tall. Cell actually shrinks the more he evolves. This is original artwork from Akira Toriyama, so it’s hard to disagree with it.
