Amazing. Teretere, you should draw more of her. This my favorite style. I like to think of her "switching" her personality. When she's on the bridge (captain) she's very determined, but in her free time she is a bit shy and emotional.
Anyway, requesting more + some kind of backstory.

No, no. I am not the artist. They're commissions, but more are certainly coming, hehe.
Her name is Sheena MacLeod, she was born on a space station that orbited a sun. I can't quite remember what they produced there, but when her mom and dad took her with them to the factory they worked at when she was still little she had an accident. A third of her brain had to be replaced with implants because of it. One of the doctors tending to her was .. mh, fake, or at least he stole a prototype chip that he also implanted. It was an interface between brain and machines, so from that day on she was able to make them do things with her thoughts.
Due to the accident she became rather emotionless and didn't play with other kids, and due to the interface she learned quite a bit from the cyberspace network at the hospital, so .. when she was four years old, almost five, she ended up going to a space academy for girls that taught various things, from pilotting to science to being someone's 'pet'. They had a cyberspace network as well and she learned a few more things while being trained as a pilot as well, and .. well, soon she was able to hack a little and got herself her own fighter class ship for no credits at all.
She also met a boy (who'll be in the next image, too) who became a father figure and due to certain circumstances her boyfriend, too ^^
Some time later the academy was attacked though, and destroyed, so the students had to find another place to stay. They were taken in by a capital ship turned space station, yet somehow Sheena wasn't exactly happy there and sooner rather than later she started to build herself a starship, again spending little to no money on it, really. That was when she was six years old. (She was a Roleplaying character. The place where I played her was a bit .. naughty at times, hehe. I didn't play her when she was 6 years old, up to when she turned 9).
Building the ship took three years, finding a crew that would accept her as a captain took a little while again, too. Her starship 'Sea of Stars' took in civilians as well as crew members and mostly just flies about to explore or do one thing or other to earn money so she can actually buy fuel and whatnot without resorting to hacking.
Over the years she's got her emotions back, tries to be a good captain too, is teased a lot by her boyfriend Arin when they're together.
And that's most of the background story for now.
I hope it's alright writing so much, hmm. But anyway, there it is~
