Fun fact: The U.S. NES looks so different from the Famicom because Nintendo was worried that video games had a stigma in the U.S. after the 1983 Atari market crash, so they changed the design to make it look more like a household appliance or computer than a video game console and marketed it as a "Home Entertainment System", even though it would be more than a decade before video game systems would hit the market that could do anything other than run video games.
