sif's fault for not recognizing me... why couldn't it just drop the ring and thank me for rescuing it when it was a pup... sigh..also since i had to get through artorias to rescue sif i'm going to assume that's a player character petting sif after killing it in it's master's armor.. dick move.

Sif topples over from where he stood no longer any strength to stand. The fight with the Chosen Undead had brought the mighty wolf of the Grove to his knees with death slowly approaching him. He suddenly felt his head being gently caressed. Sif weakly lift his head to see his master who he had not seen in years comforting him.
"I am sorry my friend. I have caused you much pain. Close your eyes. Rest now." Artorias whispered.
Feeling the presence of his master once more, Sif closes his eyes and embraces his master's touch for the last time. A strong wind passes by and whisk them both away into the night.
The Chosen Undead left the grove glowing brighter than whence he entered.

Pretty sure Sif remembers you if you played the dlc before you fight him. He doesn't want to fight you, but that's not going to stop him from doing his duty.

Sif is honor bound to protect his master's resting place. He actually does not want to fight you, but its the loyalty and honor Sif has for Artorias that he will fight you simply for even trespassing on that zone.

Sif also didn't want you to get the ring because it takes you to the abyss. And his master got corrupted their. He remembers you and as much as it pains him, he would rather kill you than like you suffer corruption like his master. It broke me to fight sif. No game has every affected me in such a way. I felt torn from my love for sif and my destiny. I wanted to plead with sif to "Just Get Out Of My Way!". I'm so sorry sif...I must go on!

Unfortunately I've never done the DLC so I never get as emotionally attached to Sif as other people. Everyone gets really sad about fighting her and then I'm just like 'Fuck this one has a huge hitbox'
