Why are cyclopes always depicted with an enormous eye? A normal human perceives objects at the same size with one eye as we do with two. Stereoscopic vision only improves our depth perception, not the resolution of what we see. A cyclops's eye should be the same size as anyone else's.

Maybe cause it'd look odd with just one small eye on the entire face, so they make it bigger to take up more room.
