Just a small correction: That Pikachu / Raichu is a female, judging by the indent on the tail.
Looking back, just about every picture the artist made depicts Raichu (especially Ethan's Raichu) as a female. The only pictures where Raichu isn't is either when the lightning part of the tail is obscured, or the drawings of the male Samuraichu.
Perhaps this picture is just showing how Ethan's Pikachu evolved?
