You can change your trainer appearance. One of the versions has her be dark-skinned.

I don't get why whenever there is a dark skinned anime character everyone assumes they are black. They could be Thai, Indonesian, Indian, Hispanic, hell they could be (and are most of the time) just a really tan Japanese person. Most Dark skinned anime characters don't even look black, the facial features and hair textures are not African at all...

No one said they were black. Everyone just referred to them as dark skinned. Please refrain from bringing up controversial subjects into these comment sections. If you really want to go there, these characters don't look particularly Asian either.

As a black girl, I get tired of people wanting to jump up and say THIS CHARACTER IS NOT BLACK HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT!? Because not every black person looks like a "stereotype." I'm more than certain I could pull off a good cosplay of this character. >.<
