I always try not to choose water type when i play because i don't want my starter learn hm move like whirlpool or waterfall. But after i saw xy starter and this picture, i will choose water starter in xy game.

Yeah, but if i make it learn hm moves then there will be no more slot to learn cool water type move like aqua jet, water pulse and hydro cannon. And I don't want to have 2 pokemon of the same type in my team.

i was always fine with my waters at least learning surf. it was effective and damaging. and it was cool looking on sapphire, ruby, and emerald. like an actual tidal wave. but yeah anon 5, you're right about that. i use to get 2 gyrados and at least give crap like whirpool and stuff to my weakest gyrados; a badazz water mixed with another type at least.
