Let's try to keep the comments civil.

The toddlercon removal had nothing to do with the legality of the content. It was done primarily to drive away a large number of users posting comments which violate our commenting guidelines, who could not be stopped with bans. It was determined that they were big enough of a problem that it was worth whatever collateral damage would result.

That's the point actually. When toddlercon was allowed, it was blacklisted and comments posted on them did not show up in the recent comments list, making it difficult for moderators to find the creepy comments. With such posts being on loli images, which is not blacklisted, the staff can more easily find such comments and discipline the offenders.
