Nintendo has made a lot of missteps over the years, but one thing they do do right in style is the treatment of their first-party IP. I'd love for Nintendo to acquire Sonic and Megaman.

@yukiyuzen well X from the MM zero series is the exact same X shown in the gif. I'm not sure it's necessary to put in X twice. As for ZX, well the protagonist isn't really megaman but some one in megaman armor. Sorry I've wasted your time if you know all this.

And just think, Megaman would still be alive if Inafune didn't leave the company a few months after Universe and Legends 3 were announced. He was the only one pushing for more and more Megaman and then he goes and leaves and since none of the other executives care they both get cancelled. Let's not forget Inafune also pushed for Capcom's westernization which led to some fairly good games which enjoy success like Dead Rising 1 and 2 and the first 2 Lost Planet releases but then this pushes Capcom further into that direction and we get stuff like Bionic Commando 2009 which had decent gameplay but bombed horribly at retail and killed GRIN, and of course the clusterfuck that was DmC: Devil May Cry.

@ ZDimitriDE Actually, no.
X has an appearance change between the X and Zero series. The "classic" X look you see all the time in the Zero games are a direct reference and intentional misdirection for plot purposes.
The "Megaman armor" in the ZX series is also implied to be the actual X "revived" as a "biosuit" (for lack of better words). The last game, ZX Advent, even implied the "suits" could move and fight independently if they wanted to. (But never did for obvious gameplay/sequel reasons)
