Nintendo just needs to buy the rights to the Mega Man series from Crapcom. If the treatment it's gotten in Smash is any indication, the series will much better off in Nintendo's hands.

Inafune wasn't entirely to blame for Megaman going downhill.
X5 was supposed to be the Magnum Opus of the X series. The big ending.

Capcom, not caring about the plot and seeing nothing but dollar signs, went ahead and greenlit X6 without Inafune. And if you know anything about X6, you know that it was quite a damn mess in a lot of regards.

I hate when people whine about Megaman not being cared about by Capcom. There's over 100 fucking games already (look it up and add the whole list to your backlog) and I'm happy with just EXE and Starforce and don't care about the others, Battle Network had 6 games on GBA with a few other games/re-releases I have yet to look into and StarForce has 3 I'm aware of. I'm happy with just that. There's tons of anime and manga as well for all of Megaman's series. Anyone who beats over 100 games in a franchise and watches/reads the massive amount of other stuff made should not whine about Capcom not caring or there not being enough Megaman out there. For fuck's sake it's easily their largest franchise. Anyone who does whine really just needs to go play the rest and then whine about there being too much to play instead. At least it'd be honest whining. No reasonable person would whine about needing more after that many games unless they're whining for the sake of whining or the sake of hating something which too many people do to Capcom. For fuck's sake I expected much better from gelbooru's comments but it's just a feels and whining circlejerk. Oh well, more EXE and SF art is always awesome.

He had to rewrite the entire timeline and the correlation between the X and Zero series, and it actually took two games to fix things because Capcom made the decision to make X7 in 3D and it was an even bigger clusterfuck than X6.
