I really question Lucario. Is he really so iconic? It was reasonable he was in Brawl while his gen was current, but now? I think a final evo of a starter from another gen would be better. Imagine a row of Charizard, Feraligator, Sceptile, GENIVHERE ,Emboar, Greninja, Pikachu, Jigglypuff.

@Anonymous3: Lucario is still popular and iconic. They tried to replace him Zoroark in Gen 5, but that failed miserably, and they brought Lucario. He was heavily promoted near the end of Gen 5,
and he was one of the first Pokemon to have their Mega Evolution revealed.
He's here to stay.

Nintendo frequently "tests" the popularity of Pokemon (usually only in Japan) and the fact of the matter is that most Pokemon simply don't catch on (no one likes Mr. Mime) or they catch on but then they fall off later. (Remember when Pikachu and Pichu team ups were all the rage?)
