Anime is singular and plural.
"Animes" is not a word.

Sorry...

Oh, so we're doing the pedant thing now?

Okay, anime (アニメ), being a Japanese loanword that was itself a loanword from English, had no concept of singular or plurals. However, in English the word 'animation' can take a plural form of animations when used to refer to discrete instances of animation. For example, 'Once the artists finished, the editors spliced the Mickey Mouse animations'. Check Google Define if you don't believe me. Since アニメ and cartoon animation are largely the same concept (and in fact PPG and MLP are referred to as アニメ in Japan as much as Astroboy and DBZ are) the loanword can potentially take on a plural form.

Moreover, since anime in this context can refer to multiple discrete instances of animation (don't let her watch Sailor Moon v. don't let her watch Sailor Moon episodes) the plural form of anime remains the correct usage.

So suck it, Anon1.

<_<;; I think Ryuuko would have preferred that Senketsu had this as his alternate mode from the start.
