Anon2, kobolds in original AD&D were described and illustrated more like little-yappy-dog-people than reptiles, except for their scaly skin. So I can see where the dog interpretation (which Suikoden also uses) comes from.

The only problem is describing her hand as twice the size of a humans. That's crazy because that's way to big and would put a tremendous strain on her wrists and arms. Maybe 30% bigger would work but a 100%? No way.
