I have to say even for mega blaziken this will be a bad matchup
turn 1 mega evolve protect -> speedboost
and then? fire and fighting are both not very effective against Rayquaza :/

That maybe so, but it is possible they are trying to capture it. Weakening a pokemon with moves that pokemon can resist is a good strat since you can dwindle it down close to 1 hp if they lack a move such as false swipe.
