The episode marked Serena's decision to finally begin striving for her new goal to become a Pokemon Performer (like a Japanese idol, I guess) and this was the ending to it. It'll probably stick around for a while though.

Does this mean that Serene is getting bounced from Ash's crew soon?

I mean, I know it's Pokemon and the people who run this anime are allergic towards having any permanent cast members that aren't Ash and Pikachu, but the Dedenne + Serena + Lucario + Citron + Koruni team has been my favorite generation.

Obviously she's going to stuck with Ash's crew until the end of the series, like everyone else. The only difference here is that she spent 45 episodes traveling for no strong reason.
