There wont be a retcon people, seriously. The reason why the 02 cast aren't being promoted is most likely because they'll be side characters much like the majority of the 01 group were in 02. It wouldn't be named "tri." if they weren't going to acknowledge 02. They would alienate the 02 fans by doing that. Hikari and Takeru are wearing the same middle school uniforms that Taichi and the rest wore in 02, while Taichi and the others seem to be wearing the high school uniform that Jou wore in 02. So don't get your hopes up about there being a retcon. Yamato and Sora married while Hikari and Takeru didn't, as stated by the creators, get over it.
