You guys seem to be forgetting that "Aerial Ace" isn't a perfect translation. The attack is based off of a samurai sword technique, which is what the game animation reflects. So, in a sense, the Aerial Ace Frogadier is using more "true to form", so to speak, as he's using more like a sword slash vs the streaming wind/aura that the show is more familiar with.
