I'm..not too convinced that the pilot of that Focke Wulf walked away. Take a look at the cockpit.

M1 Rifles, American Uniforms, and the Pilot in the center is in a Luftwaffe uniform in front of a downed BF 109. I think she WAS the pilot, as this artist doesn't shy away from his ww2 characters being killed in the artwork.
