its referencing the fantasy chapter cover naruto had a while back.

sasuke was an elf archer, sakura was an axe-wielding warrior and kakashi was a mage. most people jumped on it and claimed it referenced lord of the ring,
cuz of course its the only medieval fantasy setting that exist (sarcasm)
