I dunno, the whole premise feels a bit forced and too geared towards trying to put the viewer in tears. I can almost hear the director/writers yelling "cry now, cry!"

Yeah, i really don't understand the system these androids go under yet. I mean, creating bonds with these androids over years, and then some people comes to take them away? I wouldn't be surprised if depression was a mayor issue in this world.

I'm guessing it is since the branch they are in are the only ones who tries to retrieve them with full consent of the owners.

But what doesn't make sense (probably plot device) is how do you know the exact number of hours that their system memory will fail and why does "fixing" them require total deletion of memory?
