As confusing as it is, you should stop whining like that. There was a point in the manga, Somewhere around when Yu got Ashuramaru Kannon, he was referred to as "he". There might have been a few times before, but I'm pretty sure Yu didn't refer to Ashuramaru as anything but Ashuramaru until they established that sort of trust.
It doesn't help when all the male vampires look like trannies, minus Crowly, Mel, and Lucal's Butler. It's entirely possible that because he looks extremely fucking young, that Ashuramaru and the rest of the Black Demon series had been a Proginator that was above 6th, (as much as human blood plays a factor in that, it seems the higher you go, the younger they look) that and the fact that they are obviously strong enough to require a user that isn't weak as shit. If Ashuramaru was a little more grown up he'd probably look something like Ferid or Lucal.
If I haven't been much help, I apologize. I assume the LN about Guren would clear all this up even more, but I don't think it's translated. I also rambled on a bit there.
I think this should help, but I doubt it will. I just wish everyone would stop complaining over Ashuramaru's gender.
