I don't get why people even would want ecchi series to be hentai. Have you seen any lately? The budget and quality of most of them is just horrible, no to mention the rate they come out. Ecchi series seem to sell much more, hence the high production quality of many of them

Most ecchis nowadays are way more sexy then most hentai. Seikon no qwaser, Manyuu Hikenchou, Kagaku na Yatsura, Highschool DxD, Maken-Ki. I'd consider watching any of those before a hentai.

When was the last time you saw a full series Hentai. They don't make them at the same quality because there is significantly less in Hentai. If they were a chance for there to be a full length Hentai with a plot, I have no doubt it would be a high quality work.
