Well too bad, the status quo have always been hurting fan favorite pokemon Ash caught in the past and this one will be no different.

No way he keeps it. It evolves into a decently powerful Dragon Type, and the writers would never let him keep any pokemon that awesome (save Charizard). He's either going to have to let it go or it'll never evolve and thus be sufficiently nerfed to justify it losing in the Championship tournament.

@#1756018 & #1756096

You don't get why Goodra was released, do you?

The writers INTENDED for it to be released from the very get go. When Ash and co. found it as a Goomy, Clemont's device showed the badlands where it lived being overtaken by Florges army.

Goomy lacked the strength in order to fight back the threat, which was clearly shown within the flashbacks of it living there as a Goomy. The whole point of Ash asking it if he wanted to come with him was so he could provide it with the necessary strength and confidence that it needed in order to take back it's homeland.

Ash knew that it was best to release Goodra when they went to the badlands themselves. Seeing the situation, and how Goodra could now fight back and protect it's homeland. He made the correct decision as a trainer.

All this butthurt about it being released do to "Status quo" or "Stupid writers" is pure BS. The Status quo in XY has been blown the fuck out the water numerous times already, but the whole Goodra situation was planned out from the start.

No fence, but the writer of the pokemon show is BS. A 10 year old kid that will never get any older to only target kids to be an audience to watch it and his pokemon barely evolves at all and if it does sometime later in the future it will get the "Status Quo treatment" if its too strong. Most of the pokemon he gains are not even caught in the wild like a normal trainer would do.

Every new season makes the previous one a waste of time why?..... b/c it seems like its necessary to reset his experience of battle to make the anime interesting, but it doesn't b/c he will win gym badges anyway by un logical methods of luck

"his pokemon barely evolves at all"

Ash has more fully evolved Pokemon than unevolved ones.

Of Ash's 45 individual pokemon and 30 Tauros

23 have evolved
11 have not evolved
4 can't evolve (or 33 if the Tauros are counted individually)
7 caught that have already evolved

I sometimes get the feeling that people who bash the anime have not watched it pass season 1.

"A 10 year old kid that will never get any older..."

Yeah, why doesn't ash age like normal characters in other long running anime/manga like:

Detective Conan
Doraemon
Crayon Shin Chan
Sazae-san
Nintama Rantarō
Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen-mae Hashutsujo
Keroro Gunso
Hamtaro
Dr. Slump
Ojarumaru
etc

Remember when Ash was going to win until the guy with the Darkrai and Latios suddenly showed up? That was the writers making SURE that he'd never win a single tournament ever.

I think if he still had Goodra someone would show up with a super strong fairy, dragon, or ice thing and finish him off.

Also, of Ash's unevolved pokemon, at least 3 of them choose not to evolve.

And like the other anon said, it really does seem like most of the people who relentlessly bash the anime and Ash are the people who dropped out when it stopped being "cool". While it may be very slow, Ash has developed over the course of the series and the only time he was ever "reset" was Unova. The only time he ever really did anything worth remembering was in Sinnoh with the spinning and counter shield stuff and the Dawn episodes showed that he did remember it, but openly chose not to use them because it's really not like he had any reason to. Pikachu's the one who get nerfed and that's pretty much a necessary evil considering the alternatives include having it solo the entire first half of the region(see Tobias reaction), boxing it(no chance in hell they box the face of the franchise), or making it sit out(this would be very stupid)

Then there's the thing about how he "always releases strong pokemon" when, if you count Primape, he's only released 5 before Goodra with the last one being Lapras way back in Johto and all of them with very good reason.

Sorry for the rant, but it's just something I felt needs to be said.
