Pretty sure she actually is good at hand-to-hand combat to begin with. Then again, so is Rin.
(Rin was taught Bajiquan by Kotomine, and Luvia was taught....I don't remember the name, but it's described as "an old martial art that somewhat resembles modern wrestling")
