What's with the "my_unit_(fire_emblem_if)" tag? I've never seen Kamui referred to as "My Unit" anywhere. It's always either the default name "Kamui", or "the protagonist".
Why don't we tag them by their actual names on this site anyway? It would be like if instead of "cloud_strife", we tagged the main character of FF7 as "ex-soldier_(final_fantasy_vii)", or "link" as "hero_(legend_of_zelda)", just as a couple of examples.

Because the character is the avatar for the player and is referred to as "My Unit", even in Japan (マイユニット, Mai yunitto). The default name Kamui is only if you do not make up a name, it is not the official name of the player character.
Cloud Strife and Link are different as they already have official names. This holds true with Cloud even though you do get to change his name when he is first introduced; in this case, it is more of an option for the player to use a name other than his official name.

Not incest. The king of Hoshido had Ryouma, Hinoka, Takumi, and Sakura with the late queen of Hoshido. Mikoto had Kamui with a... certain someone.
Sometime after the first queen died, the king remarried. He took Mikoto as his new queen, and accepted her child as one of his own.
Kamui has no blood relation to any of the Hoshido royals besides his mother.
