There was a scene where a love letter (from Eiko to Zidane) and a bunch of misunderstandings led Beatrix and Steiner to get together, with some of the characters listening in.

Also, Vivi has a nack for tripping every so often, but I don't remember if this happened in the original scene.

I think the idea is that Beatrix and Steiner were gettin the "bow chick wow" started. (as evidenced by Beatrix's state of dress...er undress)and Vivi trips and gives away everyone's position. As to why everyone is spying on Steiner and Beatrix...your guess is a good as mine.
