I know it is an odd angle, but how the hell is that helghast almost as tall as Samus, or worse Master chief? Sure he looks smaller than them, but don't forget that he is further in the background.

Samus Aran: 6'3
Master Chief 7'2

helghast: 6'0 at most.

So should we chalk this up to just the artist having no clue how to draw perspective properly? Or does he really believe that helghast troopers are that tall?

Your average artist is probably going to care as much or more about the composition of the piece than perfect accuracy. The space is better filled with a taller Helghast.
